TAF Industries acquires the “Teslia” UGV development to scale production for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: defence tech fund Resist.UA makes an exit

The founder of Phantom Technology, the company producing the UGV platform, is selling part of his stake, while Resist.UA – the main investor in Teslia since 2024 – is fully exiting the project by selling its entire share. As a result, TAF Industries becomes the majority owner of the Teslia UGV platform.

“We have experience in scaling manufacturing operations and see this deal as an opportunity to bring a product already serving the needs of the Armed Forces on the frontline to a new stage of development. TAF Industries is expanding its product portfolio into a new category for the company — unmanned ground vehicles. Alongside the UGV whose production we announced earlier in May, we are now adding another product, ‘Teslia’ — a logistics UGV designed for cargo transportation and casualty evacuation, already used by Ukraine’s Defence Forces,” said Volodymyr Zinovskyi, CEO of TAF Industries.

The Teslia logistics unmanned ground vehicle was codified and officially approved for operation within Ukraine’s Security and Defence Forces in January 2025. Since then, it has been used by multiple units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Teslia UGV is designed for transporting various payloads on the frontline and can also be used for casualty evacuation when needed.

Resist.UA invested in Phantom Technology, the manufacturer of the Teslia unmanned ground vehicle, in the summer of 2024, at an early stage of the company’s and product’s development. Over the course of two years, the team evolved from a promising engineering solution into a product now entering a new phase of scaling within the ecosystem of the defence company TAF Industries.

“We are very proud to have supported this product at an early stage. Teslia is backed by a strong engineering team and a truly high-quality product that has proven its value under extremely challenging conditions. Today, the technology is moving into the hands of a company capable of scaling production and therefore increasing the presence of such systems on the frontline to better support our military,” said Roman Sulzhyk, founder of Resist.UA.

Key specifications of the Teslia UGV:

  • Payload capacity: up to 180 kg
  • Equipped with six wheels, each powered by an independent motor
  • Six-wheel chassis reduces ground pressure and improves mobility on difficult terrain
  • Capable of overcoming hills, trenches, and challenging landscapes
  • Can perform a “tank-style” zero-radius turn
  • Can be fitted with airless tyres, allowing operation even after wheel damage
  • Equipped with a quick-swap battery pack with a nominal capacity of 6 kWh
  • Operational endurance: up to 4 hours of continuous use or up to 40 km on a single charge
  • Maximum off-road speed: up to 10 km/h
  • Thanks to its low profile, it is nearly invisible in terrain folds and operates silently
  • Compact dimensions allow transportation in the bed of a military pickup truck, minibus, or light cargo van.

The amount of Resist.UA’s investment, the terms of the agreement with TAF Industries, and the total value of the deal remain undisclosed. The current price of the Teslia UGV on the Brave1 marketplace is UAH 307,100, or UAH 531,760 including Starlink.

This case demonstrates how a fully-fledged defence tech ecosystem is gradually taking shape in Ukraine – one where early-stage investors help teams move through the initial phase of development, after which technologies gain partners capable of scaling production and taking products to the next level.
